I assume you have the FTB <whatever> mod package server jar and not the client, correct? For the FTB it's good idea to run StartServer.bat (Windows) or StartServer.sh (for Linux/Max) first on the local computer before uploading the files. So can download add files it needs however, before first run need set eula to true inside of eula.txt. After rename the FTB jar file and upload. FTB can take sometime to fully start. If still having problems needs to check the log files which located in Logs folder. Also what plan do you have with hosthorde? FTB Beyond "minimum of 4 GB of RAM is recommend"
