I want to link my two servers together, a 1.8 and a 1.7.10 (will be 1.8 once more plugins are updated). I am really confused by the help files and not sure exactly what to do with the jars and the config files to get it working. I want the chat shared primarily; I don't care so much about people being able to actually teleport from one server to the other, but I would like the chat to be shared. What have you gotten so far? It's pretty much 3 steps, setup the Bungeecord server & configure it, configure your Minecraft servers, then securing the servers.
Nevermind; I got PurpleIRC to work to connect the chat of both servers and it works great! But, here is a question for next time I get a bug to install BungeeCord: with HostHorde, do I need at least 3 servers (does the hub/lobby have to be its own server and the other servers be separate) or can it be used to just link TWO HostHorde servers?? Thanks!!
The BungeeCord proxy itself has to be on it's own plan. The proxy can't be run along with a minecraft server. Bungee Proxy -> Hub/Lobby -> Servers
