Whitelisting

How to use Minecraft's whitelisting feature

  1. Bryan
With a whitelist enabled, only users on the whitelist will be able to connect. Designed for use with private servers, or those with an application process to join.

If you are running these commands from the console, do not include the forward slash.

You can enable a whitelist by using the /whitelist on command, or enabling it in your server.properties file. To see who is on your whitelist, use the /whitelist list command.

If you have enabled a whitelist, you need to add players to it. There are two ways to do this:
    1. Using the /whitelist add command. You can add a player to the whitelist with the command /whitelist add, and remove them with /whitelist remove <playername>.
    2. Editing the white-list.txt file (1.7.5 or earlier only!) Whitelisted players are listed in the white-list.txt file. You can edit this in the Multicraft control panel by going to Files → Config Files → Whitelisted Players. Each username must be added on a single line. You must then use the /whitelist reload command for the changes to take effect.
